Counts are by the job title the employer wrote, so one filing can match more than one row. A filing shows an employer sponsored that kind of role, not that it is hiring today.

Where finance sponsorship is

Accounting is led by one firm: Ernst & Young filed 358 of the 871 accountant filings, about 41%. Financial analyst filings are led by Amazon.com Services LLC (50) and Bank of America (10), and after those two no employer filed more than 4. FP&A is the most spread out of all: no employer filed more than 2 FP&A titles in the quarter.

That spread is why an FP&A search is slow to do by hand. Many FP&A jobs are posted as financial analyst or senior financial analyst roles, so we search both titles and check each employer's filing record before applying. Sponsor lists by occupation: financial analysts, financial managers, accountants and auditors.

STEM OPT for finance degrees

A finance or accounting degree counts as STEM only if its CIP code is on the DHS STEM list. Some master's programs in finance, financial engineering or business analytics are on it; many traditional finance, accounting and MBA programs are not. Check the CIP code on your I-20. Without STEM you have 12 months of OPT, so start early and aim at employers that sponsor.

How we apply for you

A real person on our team picks finance roles that match your background and level, tailors your resume to each posting (Excel, SQL, Power BI, financial modeling, SAP or Oracle, only what you actually know), writes a real cover letter, and submits. Every employer is checked against the DOL filings first, so your applications go to companies that have actually sponsored finance roles. Nothing is auto-submitted without a person looking at it, and you get a report of everything sent. See how it works.

What it costs

It starts with a $49 trial of 20 applications so you can see the work before paying more. Most students close to graduation pick the Placement plan: $200 a month with unlimited applications, and a placement fee only once you are hired.

Common questions

Is there a service that applies to finance and FP&A jobs for me?

Yes. FlexApply is a done-for-you job application service for international candidates. A person on our team tailors your real resume to each finance and FP&A posting and applies only to employers that have sponsored H-1B before, using US Department of Labor filings. It starts at $49.

Do companies sponsor H-1B for financial analysts?

Yes. From July to September 2025, 182 employers filed 274 certified H-1B applications for financial analyst titles, 72% of them as Financial and Investment Analysts. The median offered wage was $98,030.

Do companies sponsor H-1B for FP&A roles?

Yes, but only a few at a time. 48 employers filed 53 certified H-1B applications for FP&A and financial planning titles from July to September 2025, and no single employer filed more than 2. Many FP&A jobs are posted as financial analyst roles, so search both.

Which firms sponsor accountants on H-1B?
